  Effie P. Hower, 85, of Newmanstown died Friday, September 5, 2008, of natural 
  causes in the ECC Retirement Village, Albright Campus, Myerstown, where she had 
  been a guest since August 9, 2008. Born January 5, 1923, in Rehrersburg, she 
  was the daughter of the late Paul C. and Elsie E. (Moyer) Hower. She was a 
  graduate of Womelsdorf High School, and Muhlenberg Vo-Tech. She was a member of 
  Millcreek Lutheran Church, Newmanstown. She was employed as an LPN for the 
  Wernersville State Hospital for 30 years, retiring in 1989. Survivors Include 
  daughter April E. Tinnin of Newmanstown; son John W. Hower Jr. of Michigan; 
  sister Lois Zimmerman, wife of Paul of Myerstown; brother Arthur Hower, husband 
  of June of Womelsdorf; five grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren. Services 
  will be private. Kindly Omit Flowers. In Lieu of Flowers, memorial 
  contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 11454, 
  Alexandria, VA 22312. The Hetrick-Mull Funeral Home Inc., Womelsdorf, is in 
  charge of arrangements.
