  Michael C. Karpew Jr., 65, of Myerstown, Pa., died Friday, December 12, 2008, 
  at the Palmyra Nursing Home, Palmyra, Pa. Born in Staten Island, New York, on 
  March 3, 1943, he was the son of Dorothy C. Furlong Karpew of Myerstown, and 
  the late Michael C. Karpew Sr. He worked as a merchant marine for Moran Towing, 
  Perth Amboy, New Jersey. He worshipped in the Roman Catholic faith, and was an 
  avid boater and fisherman. He enjoyed his grandchildren. In addition to his 
  mother, he is survived by a daughter, Jennifer, wife of Juergan Trager of 
  Millville, Delaware; sons William, husband of Tammy Karpew of Lititz, Pa., 
  Michael, husband of Brandie Karpew of Palmyra, Pa., and Peter Karpew of 
  Reading, Pa.; eight grandchildren; brother Stephen, husband of Geri Karpew of 
  Flemington, New Jersey; and several nieces & nephews. Services will be held at 
  the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may 
  be made to Aseracare Hospice, 315 Primrose Lane, Suite 101, Mountville, PA 
  17554. Grose Funeral Home, Myerstown, is in charge of arrangements.
