  Dorothy M. Kern, 83, Myerstown, died Sunday, June 1, 2008, in the E.C.C. 
  Retirement Village. She was the wife of the late Ralph E. Kern. She was born in 
  Lebanon County on April 10, 1925, a daughter of the late Harvey and Beulah Putt 
  Shutter. She was retired from the H.B. Reese Candy Company with 30 years of 
  service. She was a member of Bunker Hill E.C. Church, where she was a member of 
  the Adult Missionary Society. She enjoyed listening to gospel music, and was a 
  member of the WCTU. She is survived by children Shirley A., wife of the Rev. 
  David G. Roof of Myerstown, Edward R. and wife Constance Kern of 
  Fredericksburg, Randall L. and wife Paulette Kern of New Bunker Hill; four 
  grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister Betty Landis of Palmyra; 
  several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers Harold, 
  Charles, Harvey, Harry and Kenneth Shutter. Funeral services will be Friday 11 
  a.m. in the Bunker Hill E.C. Church, 2030 Route 72 North, Lebanon, PA 17046. 
  Interment will be made in the adjoining church cemetery. Viewing will be Friday 
  from 10 a.m. to the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, 
  contributions may be made to the Building Fund of her church or to E.C. Church 
  Center-Missions, 100 W. Park Ave., Myerstown, PA 17067. Rohland Funeral Home is 
  handling the arrangements.
