Kiefer Jr., 69, of Myerstown, Pa., died Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at Lancaster General Hospital, Lancaster, Pa. He was the husband of Rose M. (Eberly) Kiefer, to whom he was married 48 years on April 10. Born in Lebanon, Pa., on January 15, 1939, he was the son of the late Leroy H. Kiefer Sr. and Violet M. (Boeshore) Kiefer. He was a 1956 graduate of Lebanon High School, and served in the U.S. Army. He worked for many years at the Cornwall Ore Mines before working 13 years as an industrial mechanic at the Lebanon Steel Foundry. He then worked for H.B. Reese Co., Hershey, Pa., before his retirement. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Lebanon, Pa., and a former member of Tabor United Church of Christ, Lebanon, Pa. He enjoyed playing in the Keystone Band of Rehrersburg. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Sarah Bomberger of West Corners, New York, Suellen, wife of Scott Hentz of Myerstown, Pa.; grandchildren Steffan Bomberger, son of Fred Bomberger of Lebanon, Pa., Hannah and Ethan Hentz of Myerstown, Pa.; sister-inlaw Anne, wife of Bradley Wertz of Lebanon, Pa.; nephews Ezekiel, Gabriel and Nathanael Wertz of Lebanon, Pa.; several nieces and a nephew. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Speraw; and sisters Katherine (Kiefer) Houck and Dorothy (Speraw) Haak. Memorial service will be held Thursday, June 19, 2008, at 11 a.m. from Bethany United Methodist Church, 510 N. Hanover St., Lebanon, Pa. Visitation will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. Interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
