  Klepper, Carl George "Boots"    
   
   
  Carl George "Boots" Klepper, 73, beloved father and friend, passed away 
  Tuesday, May 13, 2008. Born in Lebanon, Pa., he had been a Peninsula resident 
  for many years, moved back to Penn for 20 years, and returned to Newport News 
  in 2007. Mr. Klepper retired from the U.S. Army in 1979 as a sergeant first 
  class with over 28 years of honorable service to his country. He was a 
  recipient of the Bronze Star, Purple Heart and served in Korea and Vietnam. Mr. 
  Klepper was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Jonestown and the 
  Singles Society. He served on the West Lebanon Township Board of Commissioners. 
  He truly enjoyed his military travels to Germany, where he met his beloved 
  wife, Susanna. He also enjoyed dancing with his friends. Mr. Klepper was 
  preceded in death by his late wives, Susanna Klepper in 1984, and Deborah King 
  Klepper in 2002. He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Magnotti and husband 
  Robert; and two grandchildren, Sophie and Avery Magnotti, all of Newport News; 
  a sister, Patricia Wagner and husband Paul of Lebanon, Pa.; numerous nieces, 
  nephews and other extended family; and his beloved dog, "Gizmo." A memorial 
  service to celebrate Carl's life was conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 
  2008, at First United Methodist Church Fox Hill by the Rev. Cheryl L. Simmons. 
  A funeral service will be conducted at 9 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2008, at the 
  Fort Myer Chapel, followed by interment with military honors in Arlington 
  National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane 
  Society of Lebanon County, 150 North Ramona Road, Myerstown, PA 17067.
