Robert C. Klick Sr., 82, of Mechanicsburg passed away Sunday, December 28, 2008, at the home of his son. Born in Harrisburg on July 31, 1926, he was the son of the late Robert W. and Mamie Mader Klick. Robert retired after 35 years of service as the purchasing supervisor for the SPCC department of the Mechanicsburg Naval Supply Depot. He was an U.S. Navy veteran, having served during World War II. Robert was a member of the Mechanicsburg Club, the American Legion of Mechanicsburg, and a former treasurer of BPO Elks Lodge No. 2257, Mechanicsburg. He enjoyed golfing and bowling. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Rachel C. Klick, on September 6, 1996; and one brother, Richard W. Klick. Robert is survived by two sons, Russell D. Klick, husband of Lydia J. of Camp Hill, and Robert C. Klick Jr., husband of Gretchen L. of Mechanicsburg; one brother, Samuel A. Klick, husband of Sylvia of Gardners; three sisters, Mary E., wife of the late Chalmer A. Nye of Millsborough, Fla., Ruth P. Ricker of Middletown, and Peggy Ann, wife of W. John Strickler of New Oxford; seven grandchildren, Kelli Chapman, wife of Dustin of New Cumberland, Traci Strawser, wife of Sean of Mechanicsburg, David Klick, and Daniel Klick, both of Camp Hill, Jesse Klick, Max Klick, and John Klick, all of Mechanicsburg; and four greatgrandchildren, Olivia and Sophia Chapman of New Cumberland, and Noah and Mary-Rachel Strawser of Mechanicsburg. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Inurnment will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Grantville. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Arthritis Foundation, Central Pennsylvania Chapter, 3544 North Progress Avenue, Suite 204, Harrisburg, PA 17110; or National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Central Pennsylvania Chapter, 2040 Linglestown Road, Suite 104, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
