Kneasel, 101, of Lebanon died Sunday, December 14, 2008, in Spang Crest Manor. She was born April 23, 1907, in Mt. Zion, daughter of the late Edwin S. and Ella S. Glick Shirk. She was a member of Zoar Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she had taught Sunday school for many years. She had worked out of her home as a professional seamstress and tailor. She was a member of numerous sewing groups, Kimmerlings Grange, a member and past president of the Farm Women No. 12, and a 7th degree member of the grange, where she had attended numerous Pa. State and National grange conventions. She lived on a farm in North Lebanon Township, where at one time she grew cherries and apples, as well as milk cows and numerous other farms activities. She traveled in and out of the country on numerous sightseeing trips. Surviving are children Bernice, spouse of Joseph Fink of Duncansville, Lee E., spouse of Alvena Kneasel, Jay H., spouse of Audrey Kneasel, and Roy W., spouse of Anna Kneasel all of Lebanon; 10 grandchildren, Barry and Bob Fink, Mika and Ron Kneasel, Shirl Kichman, Holly Umberger, Tammy Beard, Tina Nesbitt, James and Mark Kneasel; 21 greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Sterling Kneasel on Nov. 3, 1983, and sister Beulah I. Darkes and brother Norman J. Shirk. Viewing is scheduled for Friday, December 19, 2008, from 6-8 p.m., and Saturday from 9:3010:30 a.m. at Zoar Evangelical Lutheran Church, 560 Freeport Road, Lebanon, PA 17046, followed by services at 11 a.m. in the church. Burial will be at Zoar Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials can be sent to her church.
