Koch, age 92, of Myerstown, and formerly of Wernersville, died June 18th at 5 a.m. in his StoneRidge Village apartment. He is the husband of Kathryn M. (Heffner) Koch. They were married 68 and a half years. Mr. Koch was born in Heidelberg Township, the son of the late Levi and Rachel (Zeller) Koch. He was a 1933 graduate of Wernersville High School, and a graduate of Palmer Business School, Reading. He was employed as a product manager for 40 plus years at Carpenter Tech, retiring in 1978. He was a member of St. Daniel's Lutheran Church, Robesonia, where he was former president of church council, played in the church orchestra, and served on various other committees. He was a member of the Wernersville School Board, and later the Conrad Weiser School Board, a former chairman of the Wernersville Water Authority, and former chairman of the Wernersville/Robesonia Sewer Authority. He was a former officer of the Wernersville Lion's Club, a member of the Pennsylvania German Heritage Society, West Berks Versommeling, the Heidelberg Heritage Society, and the Die Dolpehock Sanger Choir. Mr. Koch was an avid golfer and avid Philadelphia Phillies fan. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter Lucille K., wife of Franklin R. Shearer of Palmyra; daughter-inlaw Carole S. Koch of York; brother Donald L. Koch of Wernersville; sister Rachel Stump of Wernersville, sister Helen Lutz of Wernersville; grandchildren Steven R. Koch and his wife Michele A. and J. Michael Shearer and his wife Diane M. He is predeceased by son Robert F. Koch Jr., brother LeRoy A. Koch, and sister Mae Z. Oxenreider. Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in St. Daniel's Lutheran Church, Robesonia, with the Rev. Wayne Heintzelman officiating. Interment at Heidelberg Cemetery, Robesonia. Friends are invited to call Sunday 1 to 2 p.m. at the church. Lamm & Witman Funeral Home Inc., Wernersville, is handling arrangements. Published in the Lebanon Daily News on 6/19/2008.
