Kreider, 60, of 255 Ellis Turner Road, Bloomsburg, died Sunday, July 13, 2008, at 6:30 p.m. at his residence. He has been ill for the past nine months. Born March 7, 1948, in Lebanon, he was the son of the late William F. and Wanda V. (Snyder) Kreider. He has lived in Bloomsburg since July 1987, and previously in Huntingdon, Pa. He graduated from Palmyra High School in 1966, and from Juniata College with a B.S. in psychology in 1970. He was the alumni director at Juniata College from 1970-1983. He established a State Farm Insurance Agency in July 1983 in Huntingdon; in 1987 he moved to Bloomsburg as the State Farm Agency district manager. During his tenure, he was an 11time life ambassador qualifier, and qualified to attend every national convention throughout 25 years of service for State Farm policyholders. In 1995, he left his management position and returned to personal production with a State Farm office in Berwick. He was an associate member of the Berwick VFW, North American Hunting Club, life member; national sponsor of Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and served with the Columbia County Sheriff's Posse for 18 years, and was secretary for 10 years. He was preceded in death by a sister, Karin Tanis. Surviving are his wife, the former Elsie S. Stoudt, with whom he has been married to since February 2, 1985; two step-daughters, Ruth W., wife of Timothy Noel of Petersburg, Pa., Shelly Norris of Littleton, Colo.; four step- grandchildren; six brothers and sisters, James S. Kreider and his wife, Sharita of Myerstown, Pa., Thomas L. Kreider and his wife, Cynthia of Easton, Pa., Lynn B. Kreider of Palmyra, Pa., Bradley D. Kreider and his wife, Crystal of Northampton, Pa., Kimberly K., wife of Jay Umble of Annville, Pa., and Michelle A., wife of Victor Morgret of Annville, Pa.; five nieces and nephews; and eight great-nieces and greatnephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 18, 2008, at 2 p.m. in Wesley United Methodist Church, Third and Market streets, Bloomsburg, with Pastor Jay E. Jones officiating. Friends may call Thursday 6-8 p.m. at the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg; on Friday 1-2 p.m. at the church. Private burial in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra, Pa.
