Manning, 91, of Lebanon died Friday, November 28, 2008, at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was the husband of Pauline Krick Manning, who died in 1987, and Evelyn Schamber Scholl Manning, who died Nov. 15, 2000. Born in Watsontown, Pa., on November 24, 1917, he was the son of the late John and Beatrice Young Manning. Harold owned and operated Harold A. Manning Auto Parts. He served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force from Aug. 31, 1942, till Nov. 21, 1945, in the 392nd Air Services Squadron, 46th Air Services Group. Harold received the Philippines Liberation Ribbon, World War II Bronze Star, and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of the VFW and Annville American Legion. He is survived by a son, Larry Manning and wife Sally of Tucson, Ariz.; a grandson, Robert Manning; granddaughter Kimberly Dorazio; greatgranddaughter Alicia Dorazio; and greatgrandson Nicholas Dorazio, all of Tucson, Ariz.; a sister, Helen, wife of Mervin Lingle of Carmel, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
