Miller shabodeho@aol.com November 29, 2008, 5:13 pm Published in the Lebanon Daily News on 11/14/2008 Martin, Alice Grace Alice Grace Martin, 71, 331 Greble Road, Jonestown, died Wednesday, November 12, 2008, in Countryside Christian Community, Annville. She was the wife of Tennyson Martin, with whom she celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary this past March. Born in Lebanon on June 28, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Daniel B. and Margaret Hanley Light. Alice worked in human resources at Philhaven Hospital and, prior to that, was a teacher's aide at Northern Lebanon High School. She was a 1954 graduate of Messiah Academy, and a member of New Hope Brethren in Christ Church, Harrisburg. Alice was the organist at Fairland Brethren in Christ Church, Cleona, for 29 years, playing for church services, weddings, and funerals, and was an advocate for "MMA" Mennonite Mutual Aid Association at Fairland and New Hope. She enjoyed painting, arranging flowers, art work, gardening, reading, crafts, and traveling. Surviving in addition to her husband are four sons, Douglas T. Martin of Las Cruses, N.M., David L., husband of Louise Martin of Desert Hot Springs, Calif., Donald J. Martin of Jonestown, and Dwight P., husband of Karen Martin of Jonestown; a brother, Daniel H., husband of Janice Light of Fredericksburg, and James S., husband of Gasina Light of Lebanon; five grandchildren, Gretchen, Jamie, Jessica, Jeremy, and Preston; and one great-grandson, Gavin. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and greatnephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. from Fairland Brethren in Christ Church, 529 W. Penn Ave., Cleona. Interment will be in Kochenderfer's Cemetery. Viewing will held on Saturday from 911 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to New Hope BIC Church, 584 Colonial Club Drive, Harrisburg, PA 17112; or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1274, Lebanon, PA 17042.
