Miller shabodeho@aol.com February 22, 2008, 12:04 pm Published in the Lebanon Daily News on 2/12/2008 McCorkle, Jean Behmer Jean Behmer McCorkle SOUTH ANNVILLE TWP Jean Behmer McCorkle, 84, of 622 Horseshoe Pike, South Annville Township, died in her residence on Sunday, February 10, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. She is the wife of Paul L. McCorkle, who she was married to for 58 years. She was born in Owl Hill, Lancaster County, on October 28, 1923, to Walter and Mary Felker Behmer She was a bookkeeper for several years for Millard's Quarry in Annville before she became a homemaker. She also worked for nine years in the cafeteria of the Annville-Cleona High School. She is a member of the Fontana Christian Fellowship Church. Her life was her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting, cooking and baking. Surviving in addition to her husband Paul are her daughters, Mary Jean McCorkle, Pillow, Pa., Judy Stern and her husband Lee, Pittsburgh, Pa., Nancy McCorkle, Lebanon, Pa., and Ellen Warner and her husband Alan, Fleetwood, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Her brother Fred Behmner precedes her in death. Relatives and friends are invited for a time of viewing on Wednesday, February 13, 2008, from 6-8 p.m. at the Rothermel Funeral Home Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra. Her funeral will be on Thursday, February 14, 2008, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with the hour prior for viewing. The Rev. Brian Farling and the Rev. James Pond will officiate with burial to follow in the Broadview Cemetery, Hershey, Pa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Fontana Christian Fellowship Church, c/o Rev. Brian Farling, 2083 Horseshoe Pike, Annville, PA 17003; or to Compassionate Care Hospice Foundation, 100 W. Brown St., Suite 23, Middletown, PA 17057.
