  Harold J. McDowell, 85, of Lebanon died Saturday, September 6, 2008, in 
  ManorCare Health Services, Lebanon. He was the husband of Anne Nichols 
  McDowell, to whom he was married for 59 years in June. Born in Philadelphia, 
  Pa., on June 27, 1923, he was the son of the late William and Sadie Fetters 
  McDowell. Harold was a field service engineer for General Dynamics; he was a 
  World War II veteran serving with the U.S. Navy. Surviving besides his wife are 
  one daughter, Barbara McDowell of Lebanon; two sons, Jim McDowell and wife 
  Kathy of Buffalo, N.Y., and Joe McDowell and wife Lynne of Newtown; four 
  grandchildren, Abby, Christopher, Morgan and Matthew McDowell. He was preceded 
  in death by two brothers, William and George McDowell. Services will be held at 
  the convenience of the family with inurnment in Indiantown Gap National 
  Cemetery. Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, Annville, is in charge of 
  arrangements.
