James L. Meador, 65, of 253 Lights Church Road, Lebanon, died Thursday, May 15, 2008, in the Hershey Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Maria Stadler Meador, with whom he would have celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary this August. Born in Pottsville on September 6, 1942, he was the son of the late Roy and Mae Koehler Meador. He was a retired Pennsylvania State Police trooper with 28 years of service, and served in the U.S. Army. He was a 1960 graduate of Pine Grove High School and a 1965 graduate of the Pennsylvania State Police Academy. Jim really enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family, and in his younger years, he enjoyed motocross, skeet shooting, boating, and hunting. Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Belinda, wife of PSP Corporal Thomas G. Carr of Lebanon, PSP Trooper 1st Class Audrey, wife of PSP Trooper 1st Class Jeffrey E. Landis of Lebanon, and Wendy Meador of Elk Grove, Calif.; five grandchildren, Lindsay and Thomas P. Carr, Matthew Bare, and Samuel and Sierra Thrush. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. from St. Paul The Apostle Church, 125 S. Spruce Street, Annville. Interment will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with military honors at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the Kreamer Funeral Home, 618 E. Main St., Annville, and also on Tuesday from 9-10 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The National Kidney Foundation of Central Pennsylvania, 4813 Jonestown Road, Suite 101, Harrisburg, PA 17109- 1700.
