Miller shabodeho@aol.com April 27, 2008, 9:27 pm Published in the Lebanon Daily News on 4/15/2008 Melia, Edna May Edna May Melia LEBANON Edna May Melia, 85, peacefully passed away the morning of April 13, 2008, at Cedar Haven, Lebanon. Edna was a beautiful, loving person filled with generosity and compassion. She had a quiet grace and a fun loving spirit. She was loved by her family, friends, and those who spent time with her either doing volunteer work at one of her numerous jobs, or participating in any of her favorite sporting activities. She especially loved fishing along the Jersey shore and playing golf. Edna May Melia was born in Philadelphia to the late Helen Worthington and John Wilson Monteith on July 14, 1922. She was married to the late John "Jack" Melia, and they raised four children and numerous pets in Langhorne, Pa. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by daughters Barbara, wife of Wesley Harding of Lebanon, and Nancy, wife of Richard Banks of Atlantic Beach, Fla.; sons John, husband of Tracey Melia of Exton, and Kenneth, husband of Beverly Melia of Upper Black Eddy; grandchildren Wesley, Laura, Christopher, Dawn, Jeffrey, Nicole; and six greatgrandchildren; and all of her friends and extended family that have known and loved her through the years. Edna was preceded in death by her husband, grandson Nicolas, and siblings Edith Leonard and Wilson Worthington Monteith. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2008, at 11 a.m. at St. James Episcopal Church in Langhorne, Pa. Interment will follow at Upper Tinicum Cemetery, Upper Black Eddy, Pa. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation, 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 205, Harrisburg, PA 17110; or to Compassionate Care Hospice, 100 E.
