  Mary J. Mellott, 78, Lebanon, died Sunday, September 7, 2008, in the Lebanon 
  Good Samaritan Hospital. She was the wife of the late Walter V. "Pete" Mellott, 
  who passed away in 1986. She was born in Lebanon on November 27, 1929, daughter 
  of the late Joseph and Helen Weaver Guare. She was a retired supervisor for 
  Marco Electric, Womelsdorf. She attended St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 
  West Lebanon. She was a graduate of Lebanon High School Class of 1947, and was 
  a member of several civic and social organizations, among them as a life member 
  of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Lebanon VFW Post 23. Surviving are daughters 
  Shirley A. Herr, Brenda S., wife of David Peters; grandchildren Tiffany L., 
  wife of Robert Bare, Christina M., wife of Russell E. Harvey III; great-
  grandchildren Zachary Bare, Matthew Bare, Grace Harvey, Addie Harvey; brother 
  George Guare, all of Lebanon; sisters Anna Mae, wife of Herman Funk of Orlando, 
  Fla., Margaret, wife of LeRoy Mease of Lebanon; several nieces and nephews. She 
  was preceded in death by brothers Joseph and William Guare. A private family 
  service will be held with interment in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In 
  lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Luke's UM Church, 2327 Lehman 
  St., Lebanon 17046. The Rohland Funeral Home Inc., Lebanon, is in charge of the 
  arrangements.
