  Ruth (Eckert) Meyerhoffer, 91, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family 
  on Thursday, September 4, 2008, in her residence. She was the wife of the late 
  Willie Morgan Meyerhoffer, who died November 12, 1970. She was born in 
  Lancaster County on May 22, 1917, to Levi and Frances Leedom Eckert. She 
  retired in 1976 after 31 years from the cocoa department of the Hershey 
  Chocolate Company. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, floral arranging and 
  crafts. Surviving are her sons, Carl W., of Palmyra and John J., husband of 
  Pamela of Phoenix, Ariz.; grandchildren Kathy Barna, Karen Stamm, Linda 
  Herniak, Melissa Douple, Eric and Sean Meyerhoffer; eight greatgrandchildren; 
  one greatgreat-granddaughter; a sister, Verna Funk of Florida; and a brother, 
  Paul Eckert of Pennsylvania. Relatives and friends are invited for a time of 
  viewing on Monday, September 8, 2008, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Rothermel 
  Funeral Home Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, followed by her funeral at 10:30 
  a.m. with the Rev. Kenneth E. Buckwalter officiating. Burial will follow in the 
  United Christian Cemetery, Campbelltown. In lieu of flowers, memorial 
  contributions may be given to any local American Cancer Society.
