"Jeck" Arvel R. "Jeck" Miller PINE GROVE TWP. Arvel R. "Jeck" Miller, age 79, of Suedberg Road, Pine Grove, passed away in Pine Grove Township on Monday, March 3, 2008. Born on January 5, 1929, in Schuylkill Haven, he was the son of the late Irvin and Maude Krause Miller. He was a member of Hetzel's Lutheran Church. He had been a construction worker, last employed at Kimbob in Harrisburg. Mr. Miller had been an airman 2nd class in the United States Air Force, having served during the Korean War. He was a member of the Pine Grove American Legion. Preceding him in death were four brothers, Carl "Mike" Miller, Marlin "Pat" Miller, Thomas Miller, Arnold "Pete" Miller; and a sister, Kathryn Miller. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Cora E. Wolfe Miller; two sons, Master Gunny Sgt. Dale Miller in Arizona, Donald Miller of Pine Grove; two daughters, Tracey Rigney of Virginia, Dr. Carol Miller-Schaeffer of Schuylkill Haven; 10 grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; three brothers, Robert Miller of Womelsdorf, Earl Miller and Irvin "Chub" Miller, both of Pine Grove; six sisters, Fern Miller of East Petersburg, Pa., Dorothy DeLong of Bernville, Priscilla "Sis" Baugh of Cherry Hill, N.J., June Wehry of Mt. Pleasant, Arlene Beck of Pine Grove, and Dawn Keller of Friedensburg. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2008, at 11 a.m. in the H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, with the Rev. Cynthia Kennett officiating. There will be a viewing on Thursday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hetzel's Cemetery, Hetzel's Church Road, Pine Grove. The family would prefer, in lieu of flowers, donations be given to the American Heart Association, 1019 Mumma Road, Wormleysburg, PA 17043, in his memory.
