Miller shabodeho@aol.com February 3, 2008, 11:58 am Published in the Lebanon Daily News on 1/12/2008 Miller, Richard Vernell "Trip" Richard Vernell "Trip" Miller LEBANON Richard Vernell "Trip" Miller passed away Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, in Lebanon. Mr. Miller is originally from Philadelphia, born there in 1946, and has lived in this area for the last 10 years. He is a disabled veteran, having served his country with gallantry and honor. He served three tours of duty in Vietnam, serving with the 5th Special Forces Group attached to the 1st Calvary Division as an airborne team leader. His military awards include the Silver Star, Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster (2nd Award), three Purple Heart Awards, Combat Infantryman's Badge, Vietnam Service Medal with three stars, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, Vietnam Campaign Medal with two stars, and Air Medal with Oak Leaf, Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He leaves a son, Jonathon (sic) Richard Miller, at home; and a sister Geraldine Henry; and brother Preston Black in Philadelphia. Richard was a gracious, unassuming individual, always ready with a kind and witty word. He was proud of his service to his country but never spoke about it very much. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 12, at 11 a.m. at the Word of Faith Church, 27 N. 10th St. in Lebanon. Burial will be at the discretion of the family.
