Missimer, 57, of Richland, Pa., formerly of Reading, died Thursday, April 3, 2008, at his residence. He was the husband of Carolyn J. Palmer Missimer, to whom he was married 31 years on April 22. Born in Reading, Pa., on June 5, 1950, he was the son of Dorothy A. Eiler Missimer of Reading, and the late Raymond L. Missimer. He was a 1969 graduate of Reading High School and served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War. He had been employed 25 years at Crompton & Knolls, Birdsboro, Pa., until 2003. He then began working for Glidden Paint Corporation, Reading, for two years, last working in 2006. He was an avid bowler for many years, and a Nascar and Redskins fan. He especially loved to ride his HarleyDavidson Motorcycle. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved joking with everyone. He enjoyed spending time with his family and playing with his grandchildren. He was a co-founder of the Polar Bear Club of Reading. For 10 years, he participated in the Polar Bear Plunge in Delaware to benefit the Special Olympics. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by daughters Janell, wife of Seth Hoffer of Palmyra, Pa., Jennifer, wife of Luis Santiago of Wyomissing, Pa.; a son, Jeffrey, husband of Delphy Missimer of Myerstown, Pa.; sister Marlene Fackler of Reading, Pa.; brothers George Missimer of Reading, Pa., Richard Missimer of Reading, Pa., Raymond, husband of Ann Missimer of Reading, Pa., Charles, husband of Vickie Missimer of Robesonia, Pa., Robert, husband of Carol Missimer of Lancaster, Pa., Paul, husband of Lisa Missimer of West Lawn, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a sister, Patty Missimer. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at 10 a.m. from Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, Pa.
