Pratt Moury, 92, of the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, Palmyra, went home to her Lord and Savior on April 18, 2008, at Hershey Medical Center. Born in Norwood, R.I., on Feb. 9, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Lucy (Rose) Pratt. She married Frederick J. Moury on Aug. 19, 1941, and would have celebrated their 67th anniversary this summer. She is also survived by daughter, Caroline Yocum (Fred) Brewer of Maine; two sons, the Rev. Fred (Miriam) of Lititz and Andrew (Sally) of McKeesport; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased in January by a daughter, Cynthia Farr (Jim), a Wycliffe Bible translator in Papua New Guinea; and a grandson, Stephen Yocum. Formerly a resident of Aldan, Pa., Almira moved to LVBH in 1986, where she had served as secretary of the Independent Living Community and played the piano for chapel services. She was a member of Aldan Union Church, where she formerly taught Sunday school, led in women's fellowship, and worked with God's Special People. In the community, she was a Girl Scout leader, Red Cross volunteer, and member of Wycliffe Associates. She was also secretary in the former northeast regional office of Wycliffe Bible Translators in Springfield, Pa. Since moving to Palmyra, she attended Lebanon Valley Bible Church and was active with the Senior Saints there. She was also a member of the Rhode Island Mayflower Society. A devoted housewife and mother, Almira enjoyed spending time with her family, playing the piano, and doing handwork. She leaves a precious legacy of faith and faithfulness for all who knew her. A viewing and family visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery. Rothermel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
