Moyer, 88, a life long Manheim area resident, quietly slipped from earth and went to heaven to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 2, 2008. Born in Manheim, he was the son of the late Phares R. and Cora Hottenstein Moyer. Phares was a lifetime farmer in the Manheim area; he also was employed part time for 57 years at the Manheim Auto Auction. He was the husband of Erla Graby Hossler Moyer, and they observed their 21st wedding anniversary in September of this year. His first wife was the late Mabel I. Wenger Moyer, who died in 1986. He was a member of Hernley Mennonite Church, Manheim, and volunteered on the cemetery committee of the church. He and his wife enjoyed spending their winters in Florida. Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Miriam J., wife of Ray Shenk of Lititz, Arlene, wife of Norman Sauder of Manheim, Julia, wife of Paul Clugston of Halifax; a son, P. Marlin Moyer of Manheim; a step-daughter, Joanne, wife of Allan Munro of Lebanon; 14 grandchildren; 37 greatgrandchildren; and one step-grandson. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Clarence, Raymond, Norman, Lloyd, and Arthur Moyer; a sister, Edna Boll; two grandsons, Gerald and Dean Shenk; and two great-grandsons, Ethan and Ryan Shenk. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his memorial service from the Hernley Mennonite Church, 746 Lebanon Road, Manheim, on Thursday, November 6, 2008, at 2 p.m. with Bishop Donald O. Nauman and Pastor George M. Hurst officiating. Interment will be private, and at the convenience of the family in Hernley Mennonite Cemetery. There will be a public viewing in the Hoffer Auditorium at Pleasant View Retirement Community, 544 North Penryn Road, Manheim, on Wednesday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friends may visit with the family at the Hernley Mennonite Church on Thursday afternoon from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
