She was a resident of Kindred lace. She was the wife of the late James B. Nelson, who died November 29, 2000. At the time of his death they had celebrated 68 years of marriage. She was born on September 21, 1911, in Union Deposit to Irvin and Lottie Neidig Hughes. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Palmyra, where she served as Sunday school teacher in the children's department, treasurer of the United Methodist Women and a member of the ladies Sunday school class. She was an avid gardener, taking great joy in sharing her harvests with family and friends. A loving and devoted mother and grandmother, she will be lovingly remembered. She is survived by her daughter Eileen Fox and husband Clarence of Palmyra; granddaughters Melinda Daubert and husband Joseph of New London, Pa., Jane Deacon and husband Roger of West Cheser, Pa.; grandson James Fox and wife Gretchen of Chester Srpings, Pa.; greatgrandchildren Margaret Daubert, Linday, Natalie and Courtney Deacon, Abigail and Alexander Fox.; a brother Irvin E. Hughes and his wife Arlene of Palmyra. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Thursday, February 7, 2008, from 9:3010:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 520 E. Birch St., Palmyra, followed by her funeral at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Kindred Place, One Kindred Place, Annville, PA 17003; or to her church. Rothermel Funeral Home Inc. is entrusted with funeral services.
