  Eva Newton, 93, of South Duke Street, Palmyra, died Thursday, July 31, 2008, at 
  the home of her daughter. Born August 29, 1914, in Woodford, Oklahoma, she was 
  a daughter of the late J.R. and Bessie (Dockery) Meek. She was a member of 
  Faith Baptist Church, Lebanon. Surviving are her children, Jeanne Newton of 
  Palmyra, James Newton of Martinsburg, West Virginia, and Elaine Mason of 
  Palmyra; siblings Ruth Burch of Ardmore, Oklahoma, and Jeri Meek of Bradenton, 
  Florida; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in 
  death by a son, Donald Newton. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, 
  August 5, 2008, at Buse Funeral Home, 145 North Grant Street, Palmyra, preceded 
  by a viewing from 10 a.m. Burial will be in Grand View Memorial Park, Annville.
