O'Block, 60, of Palmyra, Pa., passed from this life on Monday, June 2, 2008, at Harrisburg Hospital after many years of health challenges. He was born in Kittanning, Pa., to the late Frank and Pearl (Gould) O'Block. He is survived by his wife, Donna (Rambler); daughters Lisa (Kevin Corbett) of Santa Paula, Calif., and Alisha of Hummelstown, Pa.; four grandchildren, Brianna, Courtney and Blake Corbett and Autumn Nuzman. He is also survived by sisters Sandy (Michael) Hodgson of Lehigh Acres, Fla., and Barbara Crissman of Templeton, Pa.; and nine nieces and nephews and their families. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones and his constant companion, his dog, Andy. Frank graduated from Redbank Valley High School Class of 1965, Clarion University, 1969, and later completed a math degree at Penn State, Harrisburg. He worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation as a materials testing engineer, but his career was cut short by health disabilities. After retirement, he was a volunteer driver for seniors, tutored students in math and science, enjoyed helping senior citizens use their computers, and loved traveling, gardening, and fishing trips with his friend, David. As his health declined, he was content at home, where he continued to get enjoy spending time with his family, listening to audio books, and watching science shows or sports on television. Frank's wish to donate his body to science was carried out. There will be a memorial service on Thursday, June 5th, at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Church of Christ, 40 W. Pine St., Palmyra, Pa. A private memorial service in western Pennsylvania for interment of his ashes will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested for Frank's favorite charity, Teen Challenge, 33 Teen Challenge Road, Rehrersburg, PA 19550; or Muscular Dystrophy Association, 2040 Linglestown Road #201, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
