  John T. "Tip" O'Neill, 68, of Lebanon died Friday, September 5, 2008, at his 
  residence. He was the husband of Gail L. Long O'Neill. Born August 30, 1940, in 
  Lebanon, he was the son of the late Edward and Sophia Spaeth O'Neill. He was a 
  retired pipe fitter with the UA Local 520 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union in 
  Harrisburg. He was a 1958 graduate of Lebanon Catholic High School, and a 
  member of the Friendship Fire Co. He was an avid history buff, and enjoyed 
  trains, reading, being on the computer, and telling jokes. He was a U.S. Air 
  Force veteran, having served during the Vietnam War era. He was a member of St. 
  Mary's Church, Lebanon. Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, 
  Wendy S. Jones of Palmyra and her fianc", Raymond Troutman Jr., Melissa R., 
  wife of Will White of Jonestown, and Shawn E. O'Neill, at home; four 
  grandchildren, Megan, Alexandria, Kelly, and Olivia; one brother, Edward 
  O'Neill of Lebanon; several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial 
  Wednesday at 10 a.m. from St. Mary's Church, 2 N. Eighth St., Lebanon, PA 
  17046. Interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Viewing hours Wednesday 
  morning 910 at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's 
  Church or the American Cancer Society, Box 1274, Lebanon, PA 17042. Thompson 
  Funeral Home Inc., Lebanon, is in charge of the arrangements.
