Miller shabodeho@aol.com July 11, 2008, 11:31 am Published in the Lebanon Daily News on 6/28/2008 Panco, Robert Robert Panco, 75, of Hershey, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2008, in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. Born in Stockton, Luzerne County, on June 3, 1933, he was the son of the late Basil and Mary Semuta Panco. Bob retired with 27 years service from State Farm Insurance Company at 25 East Main Street, Hummelstown. He also retired from the U.S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer having served during the Korean and Vietnam War eras. Bob was a 1950 graduate of Hazle Township High School. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1687 of Hummelstown, American Legion Post 594 of Middletown, and USS Tutuila ARG 4 Auxiliary; and was a former Boy Scout leader. Bob was a sports enthusiast and an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan. He enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and doing jigsaw puzzles. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Margaret D. Adams Panco, whom he married on January 23, 1954; two sons, David J. Panco, husband of Pamela Springer Panco of Olympia, WA, and Robert Panco, Jr., husband of Natalie Anderson of Hummelstown; one daughter, Paula M. McCreary, wife of Brett McCreary of Hummelstown; three sisters, Mary Hancock of Berwick, Regina Fisher (his twin sister), wife of James, and Joanne Peters, both of Hazleton; and three grandchildren, Daniel McCreary and Shannon McCreary, both of Hummelstown, and Tyler Panco of Olympia, WA; three stepgrandchildren, Ryan Holmberg, Darien Springer and Kalina Springer, all of Olympia, WA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Panco. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, June 30, 2008, at 11 AM at St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Avenue, Hershey, with the Rev. Fr. Philip G. Burger as celebrant. A private interment with military honors will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Township. Friends are invited to call to view at the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, on Sunday, June 29, 2008, from 5 to 8 PM and on Monday from 9:00 to 10:15 AM.
