Parrott, 86, of Linden Village, North Cornwall Township, formerly of Downingtown, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2008, in the Hershey Medical Center. Born on October 22, 1922, in Bondsville, Pa., he was the son of the late Melville and Margaret Laird Parrott. Charlie's loving wife, Dorothy "Dottie" Rissel Parrott, predeceased him in 2005 after 59 years of marriage. Charlie was a career salesman. He served his country as a sergeant in the Army Air Corps during World War II and received the Victory Medal. He attended church services at the Lebanon Rescue Mission, was a member of the Caln Sportsman's Club and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Charlie is survived by a son, Charles N. Parrott of Lebanon; a granddaughter, Kimberly P. Parrott of Downingtown; and a sister, Madeleine Nicotera of Avondale. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Earl, and two sisters, Helen and Flossie. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Hopewell United Methodist Cemetery in Downingtown. The Maclean- Chamberlain Funeral Home Inc., Wagontown, is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lebanon Rescue Mission, P.O. Box 5, Lebanon, PA 17042.
