  Leroy A. Patches PALYMRA Leroy A. Patches, 77, of the Lebanon Valley Brethren 
  Home, 12 Greenhouse Lane, Palmyra, passed away Friday, March 7, 2008. He was 
  the husband of Caroline Hess Patches, with whom he celebrated 57 years of 
  marriage this past January. Born in Lebanon on September 16, 1930, he was the 
  son of the late Issac W. Patches and Katie Shonk Patches. He was a farmer and a 
  member of the Midway Church of the Brethren, where he was a lifetime deacons. 
  In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Dean, husband of Miriam Gress 
  of Lebanon; daughters Janice, wife of Gregory Smith of Spring Grove, Martha, 
  wife of John Hess of Lititz, Barbara, wife of Harold Kreider of Lebanon, and 
  Doris, wife of Dennis Shambaugh of Shermansdale; a brother, Luke Patches of 
  Lebanon; and two sisters, Miriam, wife of Fred Wege of Hummelstown, and Edith, 
  wife of Robert Bollinger of Lebanon; 15 grandchildren; and one 
  greatgranddaughter. He was preceded in death by a son, Dale L. Patches, 
  granddaughter Erin R. Shambaugh, sister Verna Brubaker, and a brother Ralph 
  Patches. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. 
  from Midway Church of the Brethren, 13 Evergreen Road, Lebanon. Interment will 
  take place in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held from 6:30 p.m.-8:30 
  p.m. Monday evening, and also one hour prior on Tuesday at Midway Church of the 
  Brethren. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Midway Church of the 
  Brethren Home Good Samaritan Fund, 1200 Grubb Road, Palmyra, PA 17078. Kreamer 
  Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
