Pavone, 95, of Palmyra died November 6, 2008, in the Good Samaritan Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Pavone Sr.; a son, Joseph Jr.; and two older brothers, Daniel and Earl Catherine. Mrs. Pavone was born April 18, 1913, in Ossining, New York, to Guiseppi and Maria Donata Catherine. Orphaned at 13 years, she left school to care for her two younger siblings, and to maintain the household for two older brothers. She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading, cooking and baking, and doing various crafts. Her greatest joy was having family and friends visit. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Palmyra. Surviving are a daughter, Diana, wife of Harold Lynch of Hershey; a daughter-in-law, Gloria (Snyder) Pavone, widow of Joseph Jr. of Annville; three grandchildren, Lori Barr, John Lynch, and Michele Pavone; two great-grandsons, Ian and Griffin Barr; a sister, Julia Pavone of Palmyra; and a brother, John Catherine and his wife, Jean of New Jersey; and many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 11, 2008, at 11 a.m. in her church. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be in the Hershey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Church of the Holy Spirit at 245 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078.
