Planken, 83, of Annville passed away on Monday, April 21, 2008, at Cedar Haven. He was the husband of Maggie Sanders Planken, and they would have celebrated their 53rd wedding on October 3rd. Born in Lebanon County on August 7, 1923, he was the son of the late Elmer and Maggie Tobias Planken. He retired from Henry Neidig Construction, where he had been a stone mason. He was a member of the Quittapahilla Rod and Gun Club, and had served as its president. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Federation of Sportsman Clubs, and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, David L., husband of Suzanne Plankin of Annville; a daughter, Violet, wife of Samuel Bohaczyk of Annville; and grandchildren Sherry Bohaczyk Weaver, Michael Plankin and Kevin Bohaczyk; and greatgrandsons Matthew and Nathan Weaver and Benjamin Plankin. He was preceded in death by a brother Allen Plankin and sisters Edna Plankin and Alberta Sanders. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Strauss-Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home, 48 W. Market St., Jonestown. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service.
