  Ruth M. Purdin, 83, of 1 Boyd St., Cornwall Manor, Cornwall, died Wednesday, 
  September 24, 2008, in her residence. She was the wife of the late Robert W. 
  Purdin. She was born December 1, 1924, in Panama City, Panama, a daughter of 
  the late Joseph and Susan Carr Lutz. Ruth was a devoted Christian, and a member 
  of the Lebanon Valley Bible Church. She was a founding member of the patriotic 
  committee at Cornwall Manor. Her hobbies included quilting, playing the piano, 
  and was a life long learner of current events. She is survived by sons Joseph, 
  husband of Linda Purdin of Reinholds, Thomas Purdin of Mountville, Mark, 
  husband of Diane Purdiin of Clementon, N.J., Daniel, husband of Kathy Purdin of 
  Altoona; eight grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren. Memorial service will be 
  held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Zerr Chapel of Cornwall Manor, Cornwall. Friends 
  may call Tuesday from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Interment in the Indiantown Gap National 
  Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cornwall Manor 
  Society, P.O. 125, Cornwall PA 17016. Rohland Funeral Home Inc. is handling the 
  arrangements
