  Reed, Claude "Turk"    
   
   
  Claude "Turk" Reed, 86, of Cornwall Manor passed away at the Good Samaritan 
  Hospital on Wednesday, August 6, 2008. He was the husband of Jeannette Nester 
  Reed, to whom he was married for 66 years. Born in Lebanon on March 30, 1922, 
  he was the son of the late Raymond and Sara Mae Reed. He graduated in 1940 from 
  Lebanon High School, where he was a stand-out basketball star. He was captain 
  of the 1940 LHS basketball team that won the Pennsylvania State Title. He 
  joined the U.S. Navy when the United States entered World War II, and traveled 
  to many places fighting the war. He retired in 1984 from Met-Ed. Surviving in 
  addition to his wife are a daughter, Donna, wife of Lester Warren, of 
  Robesonia; and a son, Jack Reed, husband of Janet Reed of Chaddsford; six 
  grandchildren, Jodi Hoch, wife of Bob, Lori Weimer, wife of Tim, David Moyer, 
  husband of Robinn, Michael Reed, husband of Tricia, Ben Reed, Bob Reed; and 
  nine greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie K. 
  Pierce; and grandson Scott Pierce. A memorial service will be held at the 
  Cornwall Manor Chapel on Friday, August 15, 2008, at 12 p.m. Everyone is 
  welcome to attend.  Arrangements entrusted to Auer Memorial Home and Cremation 
  Services Inc., Harrisburg, Pa.
