Rentschler, 74, of Fredericksburg passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2008, at his residence. He was the husband of Patricia A. Fernsler Rentschler, and on January 28th, they would have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary. Born in Berks County on August 18, 1934, he was the son of the late Raymond and Laura Wagner Rentschler. He retired in 1999, after owning and operating the Rentschler's Food Market in Fredericksburg for 35 years. He was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ, Fredericksburg, the Schuylkill Hunting Club, the Northern Lebanon Senior Citizens, and a life member of the Fredericksburg Fire Co., where he had also previously served as the fire chief and with fire police. For many years, he served as the caretaker for the Firemen's Park. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Kim R., husband of Lori Rentschler of Lebanon, and Kevin L., husband of Patricia Rentschler of Lebanon; daughters Donna J., wife of Roger Soliday of Jonestown, and Darlene K., wife of Steven Stoltz of Richland; grandchildren William and Derek Rentschler, Neil Wolfe II, Monica Griffe, Curtis Rentschler, Roger Soliday, Brandon Soliday, Joshua, Jeremy and Leah Stoltz; three great- grandchildren, Peyton Wolfe and Cassie and Keira Soliday. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2008, at 10 a.m. at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Route 72 and Campmeeting Road, Jonestown. (New Location) Viewing will be held at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m., and prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will be at Grand View Memorial Park, North Annville Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fredericksburg Fire Co., P.O. Box 323, Fredericksburg, PA 17026; or to his church, at P.O. Box 87, Fredericksburg.
