Ressler, formerly of Hummelstown was born in Reading, and died at his home in Granite Falls, Washington, on September 24th, at the age of 43. He gradated from Lower Dauphin High School, Hummelstown in 1983. Scott went into the Marine Corps, and served until 1987. He graduated from the Thaddeus Stevens School of Technology, Lancaster, in 1992, where he learned the machinist trade. Over the years, he worked in California, Utah, and, for the last 10 years, he worked in Snohomish County, Washington, for various machine shops. Scott had his home in Granite Falls, where he felt he had found the place where he wanted to stay. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and was a member of the American Legion and VFW. For those who knew him, they knew he died of ALS and, for the last six months, wanted nothing more than to live his final days at home with his two dogs and five cats. Scott is survived by his mother, Judith A. (Johnston) Ressler of Palmyra; his father, Earl L. Ressler, and wife Nancy of Hummelstown; sister Michelle M. Ressler of Emeryville, Calif., sister Mary A., wife of Patrick Nissley of Palmyra; stepsister Michelle, wife of Wendell Persaud of Annapolis, Md.; stepbrother Mark Matthews and wife Selma of Virginia; two nephews, Andrew Persaud and Anthony Matthews; and two nieces, Miranda Nissley and Julia Matthews. He also leaves behind many friends. Services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in Lamm & Witman Funeral Home Inc., Wernersville. Interment at Heidelberg Cemetery, Robesonia. Friends may call Saturday 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
