  Retherford, Shirley R.    
   
   
  Shirley R. Retherford Shirley R. Shepler Retherford, 74, of Hershey passed away 
  Wednesday, July 23, 2008, in the Hershey Medical Center. Born in Bachmansville 
  on March 3, 1934, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Edith M. 
  Shellenhamer Shepler. Shirley co-owns Pumpkin World in South Hanover Township 
  with her son, and was a seamstress at the former Press Dress & Uniform Company, 
  Hummelstown. She was a member of the American Truck Historical Society Club. 
  Shirley was a hard worker with a good sense of humor. Shirley is survived by 
  her husband of 56 years, Earl S. Retherford, whom she married on April 20, 
  1952; one son, Earl S. Retherford Jr. of Hershey; two sisters, Bernice K., wife 
  of Earnest Retherford of Middletown, and Linda D., wife of Dale Shaak of 
  Lebanon; one brother, Wallace L. Shepler, husband of Frances Spitler Shepler of 
  Lebanon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three 
  sisters, Dorothy E. Shepler, Esther M. Zeager and Joyce S. Risser; and one 
  brother, R. George Shepler. A memorial service will be held Monday, July 28, 
  2008, at 11 a.m. in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home Inc., 114 West Main Street, 
  Hummelstown, with the Rev. Charles H. Martzall of the Independent Bible Church 
  of Sand Beach officiating. A private interment will be held in the Hershey 
  Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday in the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 
  time of the service.
