  Kenneth C. Rhoads, 71, of Fredericksburg passed away on Monday, December 15, 
  2008, at his home. He was the husband of the late Irene L. "Renie" Sweigart. 
  Born in Lebanon on June 17, 1937, he was the son of the late Jacob and Helen 
  Seasholtz Rhoads. He retired from the former Dana Co., in Reading, where he had 
  worked as a welder. He was a member of the Fredericksburg American Legion Post 
  No. 915, the Perseverance Fire Co., Mt. Zion Fire Co., and the Camp Strause 
  Fire Co. He enjoyed woodworking, his crafts and camping. He was a veteran of 
  the U.S. Navy. He is survived by a stepson, Randy G., husband of Shirley 
  Sweigart of Fredericksburg; stepdaughters Marlene J. Zechman of Myerstown and 
  Janie Hauer, the wife of the late Dennis Hauer of Jonestown; a sister, Joan E. 
  Hendrickson of Vincent, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. 
  He was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Rhoads. Funeral services will be 
  held on Friday, December 19, 2008, at 10 a.m. at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home 
  & Crematory, 5 Campmeeting Road, Jonestown. Visitation will be held on Thursday 
  evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Indiantown Gap 
  National Cemetery.
