Rittle, 86, of the ECC-Retirement Village-StoneRidge Village Campus, Myerstown, Pa., formerly of Robesonia and East Cumberland Street, Myerstown, died Monday, October 27, 2008, at the StoneRidge Village Health Care Center, Myerstown. She was the wife of the late Charles E. Rittle, who died March 20, 2008. Born in Brownstown, Pa., on August 12, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Christian B. and Anna B. (Bair) Harnish. She was a 1940 graduate of Upper Leacock High School in Lancaster County, and a 1944 graduate of Reading Hospital School of Nursing. She had been an industrial nurse at Wyomissing Industries, Wyomissing, Pa., for 2 1/2 years prior to working as a registered nurse at Wernersville State Hospital for 10 years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Robesonia, Pa., Reading Hospital Alumni Association, Berks County Parkinson's Association, and had been a former president of the Hallstead PTA, Susquehanna County. She enjoyed being with her family, sewing, gardening and camping. She is survived by daughters Charlia, widow of Dennis Koch of Robesonia, Pa., Lisa, wife of Carl Nikkel of Bakersfield, California, and Jannifer, wife of Robert Cayless of Bethel, Pa.; a son, John, husband of Barbara Rittle of Robesonia, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters Verna, wife of Clarence Hufford of Lititz, Pa., Crystabel Weidler of Palmyra, Pa., Eleanor Kramer of Denver, Colorado, and Rosalie Harnish of Myerstown, Pa.; brothers James Harnish of Myerstown, Pa., and John, husband of Gail Harnish of Myerstown, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Polyanna Blankenbiller. A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 30, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 108 S. Robeson St., Robesonia, Pa. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation Inc., Office of Development, 1501 NW Ninth Ave./Bob Hope Road, Miami, Florida 33136- 1494.
