Roach, 84, of Palmyra died Sunday, August 3, 2008, in the arms of his loving wife, and surrounded by his loving family at the Palmyra Nursing Home. He was the husband of Myrtle Teahl Roach, whom he was married to for 57 years. Born in Port Republic, Va., on March 28, 1924, he was the son of the late John E. and Mattie Gibson Roach. He was a decorated U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II, where he participated in the Battle of the Bulge. Scott was employed by the Hershey Foods Corp., working on the Oil Gang. Scott was a member of Sherk's Church, Hershey Chocolate Workers Local 464, Civil War Round Table Hershey, Palmyra American Legion, Palmyra VFW, and the Palm Squares square dancing club. He also enjoyed dancing, woodworking, camping, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren and loving family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, John E. Roach Sr. and wife Jean of Annville, Scott A. Roach and wife Diane of Lancaster; four daughters, Sue Ann Adams of Fredericksburg, Rose Marie, wife of Jim Colna of Watsontown, Shirley Louise Roach-Betz, wife of George Betz of Lebanon, and Nancy Elizabeth Roach of Harrisburg; three sisters, Louise Shuey of Palmyra, Zenith Landes of Palmyra and Martha, wife of Russell Kleinfelter of Palmyra; 15 grandchildren; 17 great- grandchildren; and one great-greatgrandchild. He was predeceased by two brothers, John and Walter Roach; four sisters, Myrtle Raynes, Margaret Blouch, Rosalee Roach and Laura Morris. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. from Kreamer Funeral Home, 618 E. Main St., Annville. Interment will be at Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra. There will be a viewing prior to the service from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
