Schauer Sr., Kenneth Lee Kenneth Lee Schauer Sr., 2 Canal Street, Lebanon, has gone to his room in heaven prepared by our Lord on Wednesday, June 25, 2008. He was born in Lebanon on August 14, 1939, son of the late John P. Schauer II and Sarah Holland Schauer. He was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church, Lebanon. He was a 1958 Lebanon High School graduate, a retiree of the Bethlehem Steel Corp., where he was dubbed as the "kiki bird." After retirement, he worked occasionally at Ray's Vacuum and for friend Paul Light of Lights Tower Construction, and was a part-time plumber. He always kept busy and always had tidbits of information to get conversations going. Ken loved to talk, and claimed he never met a stranger; he could tell jokes for hours. He enjoyed attending Central Pennsylvania Dirt Tracks with family and buddy Terry Boyer, cheering for his favorite driver, Billy "The Kid" Pauch. He always looked forward to going to Syracuse for Race Week and watching his favorite driver in NASCAR, Jeff Gordon. Ken will be deeply missed by his wife, Priscilla L. Donmoyer Schauer, with whom he would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in August; daughters Jayne Schauer Thompson and companion Jeff Shaak of Lebanon, April Schauer Hain and husband Adam of Mt. Zion; sons Kenneth L. Schauer Jr. and wife Dawn of Fort Worth, Texas, and Michael Schauer of Lebanon. Additionally, there are five grandchildren, and four great- grandchildren, and lots of friends. He is also survived by his brother, John P. Schauer II and wife Joy of Lebanon; sister Margaret Miller of Harrisburg. He was preceded in death by sister Kathleen Schauer Carpenter. He shared closeness with sisters-inlaw Patricia Firestone and husband Herb, Beverly Haldeman, husband John, recently passed, Penny Donmoyer and companion Linwood Spruell, Tammy Bomgardner, husband Jeff; and brother-in-law Terry Donmoyer. A celebration of life service will be held at the Rohland Funeral Home Inc., Fifth and Cumberland streets, Lebanon, Monday at 11 a.m. with a viewing beginning at 9:30 a.m. Monday.
