  Nicholas P. Scherer, 72, of the Pine Lake Park section of Manchester, N.J., 
  died on Monday, Sept. 15th, at his home. Born in Trenton, N.J., Mr. Scherer 
  lived in Myerstown, Pa., for 20 years, then Myrtle Beach, S.C., for eight 
  years, before moving to Manchester three years ago. He was a retired accountant 
  for Bayer Aspirin Inc. in Myerstown, Pa., having had over 35 years service. He 
  loved to play golf and spending time in Atlantic City. He was a life member of 
  the Mt. Aetna Fire Co., and was a member of the BPOE of both Trenton, N.J., and 
  Lebanon, Pa. He was predeceased by his wife, Marilyn B. Scherer; and his 
  daughter, Mary Grace McCormick. He is survived by a son, Nicholas P. Scherer 
  Jr., and his wife, Debra of New Holland, Pa.; a grandson, Matthew McCormick; 
  and a sister, Betty Rauth of Wilmington, N.C. Relatives and friends are invited 
  to attend a memorial gathering from 10- 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 18th, at 
  Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, NJ 08759. A 
  memorial service will take place at the funeral home at 11 a.m. In lieu of 
  flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society.
