  Shay, Elizabeth S. "Betty"   
   
  Elizabeth S. "Betty" Shay, 90, of 501 Freeport Road, Lebanon, died Friday, 
  October 3, 2008, surrounded in her home by a loving family. She was born August 
  30, 1918, in Lebanon, daughter of the late Harvey P. and Mabel S. Kercher 
  Gingrich. She was a member of Zoar Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she was a 
  Willing Worker and member of the Altar Guild. She was formerly a secretary for 
  Lebanon Mutual Insurance Co., but most recently worked the family farm. She was 
  a volunteer at the Good Samaritan Hospital for over 30 years. Surviving are 
  husband Earl J. Shay of Lebanon; children Susan E., spouse of Edward Robb of 
  Lebanon, Patrick F., spouse of Kathie Shay of Annapolis, Maryland, and Linda 
  M., spouse of Richard Umberger of Elizabethtown; sister Mazie Millward of 
  Ocala, Florida; grandchildren Timothy E. Wolfe, Michael E. Shay, Laura E. 
  Hoover, Katie M. Umberger, Craig R. Umberger, and Heather Germak; and six great-
  grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers Elbert V. Gingrich, Russel 
  D. Gingrich, Mark E. Gingrich; and sisters Glenda Sanders and Eileen G. Ebling. 
  Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, October 11, 2008, from 11 a.m.12 p.m. at 
  Zoar Evangelical Lutheran Church, 560 Freeport Road, Lebanon, PA 17046, 
  followed by services noon. Burial will be at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery at the 
  convenience of the family. Memorials can be sent to GSH Hospice, PO Box 1281, 
  Lebanon, PA 17042-9933; or her church.
