  Jack C. Shirey, 75, formerly of Palmyra died Wednesday, October 29, 2008, in 
  the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. Born December 12, 1932, in Mayport, he 
  was a son of the late Charles V. and Frances I. (Harmon) Shirey, and was also 
  preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Ervin. He was a retired roofer, 
  and a graduate of Palmyra High School. A U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, 
  he was a member of Palmyra VFW No. 6417, and Palmyra American Legion No. 72. 
  Surviving are his children, Jack Jr., husband of Leslie Shirey of Lebanon, 
  David of Louisiana, Debra of Michigan and Diane of Colorado; two 
  granddaughters; a grandson; nieces; nephews; and companion Betty Yoter of 
  Campbelltown. Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 4, 
  2008, at Buse Funeral Home, 145 North Grant Street, Palmyra, preceded by a 
  visitation from 9:30 a.m. Burial, with military honors, will be in Indiantown 
  Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
