Sinkovitz, 88, of Annville passed away Friday, October 24, 2008, at his home. Born in Harrisburg RD 1 on March 18, 1920, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary Taschek Sinkovitz. Ed retired as the manager of the Middletown East End Warehouse, and was a construction worker for Teamsters Local 287. He served with the U.S. Navy Sea-bees in World War II, where he received the Purple Heart. Ed was a member of St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, Hershey. He was also a member of the Hershey Italian Lodge, the Harrisburg Hunters & Anglers Association, and the National Rifle Association. An avid outdoorsman, Ed had a life-long interest in hunting and fishing. He was a craftsman who enjoyed woodworking. He was an honorable man who loved and valued life and his family and friends. Even more important, was the friendship that Ed gave to others - he was a true and trusted friends to many people in all walks of life. Ed was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Virginia A. Pelino Sinkovitz, who left us on January 7, 2001. He is survived by a loving family and many dear friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 29, 2008, at 1 p.m. in St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Avenue, Hershey. Interment with military honors will be in the Hershey Cemetery. Friends are invited to the viewings in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, on Tuesday, October 28, 2008, from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Wednesday from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. Rosary will be recited Tuesday at 6:45 p.m. in the funeral home. Those desiring to honor Ed may send memorial contributions to St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Avenue, Hershey, PA 17033; or to Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 6190 Allentown Blvd., Harrisburg, PA 17112.
