  Gilbert N. Smith, 86, of Frystown died May 8th at 3:50 a.m. of natural causes 
  in his residence. He is the husband of Mary S. (Fryberger) Smith. Born in 
  Jefferson Township, son of the late Norton J. and Edna S. (Shartle) Smith. 
  Gilbert was a carpenter in the Berks and Lebanon counties area for many years. 
  He was a lifetime member of the Mt. Aetna Fire Co. Surviving in addition to his 
  wife, are two brothers, Arthur D. Smith of Bern Township and Karl H. Smith of 
  Reading; three sisters, Dorothy E. Himmelberger, Pearl A. Schaeffer, and 
  Mildred M. Graeff, all of Bernville. Services will be held Saturday at 10:30 
  a.m. in Hill Funeral Home, Rehrersburg. Interment at Altalaha Church Cemetery, 
  Rehrersburg. Friends may call Saturday 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. 
  Memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson's Support of Berks County, c/o 
  Ralph Blatt, 204 Columbia Ave., Reading, PA 19605.
