(Brandt) Snell of the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, Palmyra, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2008, after a long illness. She was born September 3, 1923, in Lebanon, Pa., the daughter of the late Grover and Stella Sherk Brandt. She was the widow of Lloyd A. Snell of Lebanon, Pa., to whom she was married for 51 years. She was a graduate of Lebanon High School, Class of 1937. Aurie served in the Women's Army Corps during World War II and received an honorable discharge, having attained the rank of corporal. She was a homemaker and had worked part time for several years at the Palm Advertiser with her late husband prior to her retirement. Aurie enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and taking fishing trips to upstate New York with her husband. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Palmyra. In addition to her husband, Lloyd A. Snell, she was preceded in death by a brother, Aaron Brandt. She is survived by a son, Attorney James A. Snell of Lebanon; a daughter, Colleen M. Snell of Palm City, Florida; and a sister, Rudella Batdorf of Rockville, Md.; and several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the Church of the Holy Spirit, 245 W. Pine Street, Palmyra. Interment will be held with military honors in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Monday evening from 79 p.m. at the Kreamer Funeral Home, 618 E. Main St., Annville.
