"Red" Stalnecker, 92, of 146 Northcrest Acres, Lebanon, died Tuesday, July 8, 2008, in the VA Medical Center. He was born March 23, 1916, in Lebanon, a son of the late John and Gertrude Woodworth Stalnecker. He was a member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, having served on the USS Muir. He was a retired mechanic from the former Standard Auto. Surviving are son Howard R. Stalnecker Jr. of Maytown; daughter Susan Long of Annville; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the last of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by wives Jean A. Granger Stalnecker and Jeanette Cogley Stalnecker. Viewing is scheduled for Friday, July 11, 2008, from 9-10 a.m. at St. Mark's United Church of Christ, 426 N. Eighth Street, Lebanon, followed by services at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Grand View Memorial Park. Memorials can be sent to Hospice of VA Medical Center, 1700 S. Lincoln Avenue, Lebanon, PA 17042.
