Stark, 58, of 1430 Old Hickory Lane, Lebanon, died Friday, June 13, 2008, at home. He was born November 16, 1949, in Colon, Mich., a son of the late Jack and Ruby Rasbaugh Stark. He had worshipped at Holy Trinity Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, and later with the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, serving with Joint Forces headquartered at Indiantown Gap. He was a veteran of Desert Shield/Desert Storm in Southwest Asia, and was awarded numerous medals and citations, including the Bronze Star. He was serving the public as Chief of Police for the Boro of Myerstown, and was active with the DARE Program, and a member of the American Legion in Colon. Surviving are children Jennifer, spouse of Jason Bodie, and Jeffrey Stark, both of Lebanon; brothers John Stark of Sparta, Mich., and Earl Stark of Three Rivers, Mich.; sisters Nancy Stark of Mendon, Mich.; Susan Freeland of Sturgis, Mich., and Roberta Lamb of Sherwood, Mich.; granddaughter Alexis Bodie of Lebanon; and fianc" Elizabeth Kale of Hershey, and her children, Briceon and Justin Kale; and two nieces; and eight nephews. He was preceded in death by wife Shirley C. "Shirl" Clauser Stark on 1/4/1994. Viewing is scheduled for Tuesday, June 17, 2008, from 6-8 p.m. at Christman's Funeral Home Inc., 226 Cumberland Street, Lebanon. Services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Myerstown DARE, 101 E. Washington St., Myerstown, PA 17067.
