Louise J. Stohler LEBANON Louise J. Stohler died peacefully, surrounded by her family, on March 3, 2008. Faced with extensive physical challenges and illnesses over the past several years, her tenacious spirit and faith never wavered. Born June 3, 1926, in Lebanon Pa., she was the widow of Clyde P. Stohler. The youngest of the seven children of Roy and Mae Yeiser of Lebanon, she is survived by two sisters, Florence Kettren of Larimer, Pa., and Leila Rishel of Gulfport, Miss. She is also survived by four children, Thomas C. and his wife Terrell of Harrisburg, D. Charles and his wife Sherry of West Hartford, Conn., JoAnn and her husband Timothy of Springfield, Ohio, and Scott A. and his wife Sophie of San Francisco, Calif. She was blessed with eight grandchildren, Meredith Gill, Shannon Berra, Adrienne Burns, Abigail Stohler, Hannah Stohler, Jacob Bennett, Katherine Bennett and Eric Stohler; as well as eight greatgrandchildren, Casey, Zachary, Emma, Olivia, Jackson, Tyson, Brayden and Cooper. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and G.G. She retired after 22 years of service to Central Dauphin School District Food Service. Famous for her chicken corn soup and pot pie, her meals nourished not only the schoolchildren, but the entire Paxtang community. Her activities included leadership in various PTAs, May fairs, church socials and service to Downtown Daily Bread. In her later years she could be found in Beaver Stadium for Penn State Football, on City Island for Senators Baseball, and very regularly at various bingo halls throughout central Pennsylvania. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 7, 2008, at 11 a.m. at her church, The Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 3700 Rutherford Street, Harrisburg, Pa. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2008, at the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry Street, Harrisburg, Pa., and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 4855 Londonderry Road, Harrisburg, Pa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Frey Village, 1020 North Union Street, Middletown Pa.; or to a childrens' charity of the donor's choice.
