  Mary E. Strauss Mary E. Strauss, 94, of the E.C.C. Home, Myerstown, passed away 
  on Friday, April 25, 2008, at the home. She was the wife of the late Harry B. 
  Strauss, Jr., who died on July 4, 1983. Born in Dornsife on March 11, 1914, she 
  was the daughter of the late Burlington and Sarah Ellen (Stetler) Latshaw. She 
  graduated as an RN from the Lankenau School of Nursing, Philadelphia, where she 
  had also served as an instructor. She was also a deaconess at the Mary Drexel 
  House of Philadelphia. She had been a long time member of the St. John's United 
  Church of Christ in Jonestown. She is survived by her sons Roger M. Strauss of 
  Quarryville and Frederick D. Strauss of Etters; stepchildren Eileen, widow of 
  Carl S. Barker of Mechanicsburg, Harry B. and Russell D. Strauss, both of 
  Myerstown, and Mary, wife of Grover Herr of Etters. She had twentysix 
  grandchildren and several greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her 
  step-son Eugene R. Strauss. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 
  2008, at 11:00 a.m. at the Strauss-Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home, 48 W. Market St. 
  Jonestown. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will 
  be at the Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Jonestown. In lieu of flowers, 
  memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital, 3551 N. Broad St., 
  Philadelphia, PA 19140 or to the E.C.C. Home, Myerstown, PA.
